The waffle is knitted into the cloth in big open squares, so the surface stands away from itself instead of lying flat. The collar is knitted in one piece and holds a point rather than curling. Three buttons run down a plain placket, the sleeve ends in a band of tighter rib, and the body follows the chest closely.
